So Dodge Ram 5500 with 4.1 ratio cannot be GCVRW more than 26 000? What if GCVWR is over 30 000. Do DOT really check GCVWR? I know that they check weight on Axles. and GVWR. 5500 GVWR is 19500 and Kaufman Trailer GVWR is 18 000. So all together is 37 000. So WHY GCVWR is so low for 5500? Is it a problem if I am over 30K?

So how should I register this Truck? And if I will be stopped by DOT or weight station how they assume what is my maximum weight.
They will calculate Dodge Ram GVWR which is 19500 and Kaufman 4 car wedge which is 18000 and add up so I should not be more than 37500. OR they will tell me no more 26 000 and give me ticket if my total weight is more than 26 000 -
No idea what stupidity they have going on there but just register for 37 or 38k whatever your home state is
