How to make a truck lighter

what can u do to make a truck lighter aside from compromising on fuel, dual tires, 6x4, etc im interested in finding out if i can get a w900 studio weight down before having to go with another truck for what im trying to do the truck itself needs to be no more than 20000 lbs full of fuel (150 gallon tanks)apu on board, headache rack, chains and binders, tarps.etc......

ive spoke with a few salesman they either didnt know or believed they couldnt get any lighter than they already are without sacrificing the payload amount

i guess what im look for suggestions on more or less is swapping steel for alluminum parts hopefully in places that will not effect the life span of the truck if thats possible ( trying to cut weight as much as i can while giving up as little as i can performance wise)

also if you know of any other truck i can make this work with more easily please let me know if in my reaearch i find that this is impossible or just way to costly my other options on the truck itself will be a 389 pete, 579 pete or a freight liner cornado

Is it going to be emissions compliant? I have a 2016 389, isx and all emissions in tact, I am convinced the emissions junk adds like 1500 pounds. My truck is 21800 full of fuel and def, and I don't carry any of the whips and chains you flatbed guys carry.

 

no im not sure on how much weight after treament adds but im going to go with a glider to eliminate that out the gate

 

do A full brake drum delete in the rears and trailer. If you have jakes and front brakes, you are good to go
