If you go with super singles and aluminum wheels you can drop 400 per AXLE... The company I drive for did this on the drives and trailer for the entire fleet. Drop the light weight of each set up (truck and trailer together) 1600 pounds.
I light weigh 33000 with 200 gallons of fuel in truck and a reefer with a full 60 gallon tank. But its a Volvo 670, our Cascadias weigh nearly the same as the Volvos.
What kind of trailer you wanting to yank around?Oldironfan and Blkcowboy Thank this. -

Yeah I think its going to be a challenge to get that setup to weigh in at 33k... Good luck, and let us know what you come up with.

W9 with a studio bunk and lightweight are rarely used in the same sentence for a reason.
Smaller bunk, shorter wb, and less fuel capacity are the easiest and cheapest options. 12.7 Detroit, disk brakes, wide singles, fixed 5th wheel, those are also all good things to think about. Losing 100 gal of fuel capacity saves about 700 pounds right off the bat.
I run dual 90’s, yeah fueling every day can suck, but it gives me room for a 10’ spread on my lift while running a 244” wb.stillwurkin, Blkcowboy, Ruthless and 1 other person Thank this. -
How about a 6x2 drive? I had a 05 Columbia with 12.7 Detroit. 240 gals of fuel tanks, it was a condo short bunk without a top bed pan. I took out the most of the cabinets. I did not have a TV or microwave, or fridge. I also removed rear can extended fairing things. And i also removed the plastic around the tanks, and the wheel wells. Granted it was 6x4 fuel of fuel it was 18,000 or 18,250 weight. I weigh 300 myself.
Also the Columbia was 240 inch wheel base with a 10 speed zf meritor.
Edit the stack was tall and no muffler.Last edited: Jun 21, 2018

Find yourself an Argosy with a Series 60, short wheelbase, super singles, weed burner exhaust, disc brakes etc.
