How to make an MC # Without A Truck

    I have my MC and don’t have a truck yet. It’s obviously not “active,” but it’s established. Have 90 days from creation to have your insurance and boc-3 submitted. After that I think it’s $80 to reinstate the numbers. Be aware that the second you complete the application you will have non-stop phone calls from every process agent, factoring and loan company there is.

    Yes. Learn the basics for a couple years on someone else’s dime.

    If you’re just getting the authority and not insurance, probably 150.00. Once you get insurance, it gets expensive.

    I had my State one after 3 months. At about 6 months I had a letter from FMCSA to submit a bunch of stuff regarding the new entrant audit. 30 days or so after that, I received a letter from FMCSA that what I submitted was sufficient and they would not be doing an on site audit. Since then, I haven’t heard anything.
    The State audit should happen pretty quick with the FMCSA audit within the first 18 months of operation.
