I will use *** for the word "quote" so it doesn't turn the explanation into quotes:
Click the "quote" button...this will bring up a working box showing the post you want to address.
1. Using the (already there in caps) [***] as the beginning of the part you are addressing...forward arrow (or use mouse) to relocate the curser to the end of the part first addressing.
2. Type in; [/***] just as you see here. The slash inside the brackets tells the computer this is the end point of the quoted section.
3. To make it easy to read what you type, space once to get the curser below the quoted section after the end quote symbol.
4. Type away your response.
5. To begin another quote point...type in [***] at the beginning...then follow directions above to locate the end quote and type in the [/***] as above.
6. You can use the final (all caps) end quote to respond to the final part of the section...just put your [***] before the groups beginning point.
To bring multiple posts together to respond to several posts in one response block;
The button next to the "quote" button (with the quote marks and + sign), click on the button of the first post, and other posts you wish to include, and at the end of the group, (the last post you wish to include) click on the "quote" button...this will display each of your selected posts in one response box...type your response after the [/***] of each post....or to say one thing to all...start typing after the last [/***] you see in your selections.
good luck and have fun! -

Ahhh I see said the blind man.
It makes sense now that you have explained it that way.
The way WCP explained works well for breaking down longer posts from a single poster, that one might want to respond to on a point by point basis, your way works for quoting various seperate posts.
I like them both... I've been doing it the freakin hard way all this time.
