.21 CPM! You've gotta be kidding me! I hope all prospective Werner drivers or students are reading this...My first OTR job was in 1999 working for a small company, .31 CPM, home every weekend and as many miles as I wanted to run. That was 15 years ago! .21CPM is an absolute insult! And BTW, ,29CPM isn't any better!

Hi plynnjr, Generally, a week notice is good enough, like patty sez, if you give 2-3 weeks, it will be the worst time (if it could get any worse) When I had my own truck, I called my co. I was leased to , and said my plate is in the mail, up yers. The worst thing you can do, is abandon the truck somewhere( and fly home) that will stay with you for a long time. Good for you, there's much better deals out there, they'll get over it.:smt039

Heres what Werner will probably do if you give them a 2 weeks notice, route u to the terminal with the next load and accept your notice right then and there.Happened to me with a company.[QUOTE="semi" retired;4121477]Hi plynnjr, Generally, a week notice is good enough, like patty sez, if you give 2-3 weeks, it will be the worst time (if it could get any worse) When I had my own truck, I called my co. Drive the truck through the front door at Weener, hand 'em the keys and say in your best Terminator impression, "Hasta la vista dickwad!"

I wish companies like Werner was having a lot of trouble finding drivers to hire then I bet they would learn real quick to love the drivers they have.

Take pictures of your truck and turn on the date/time function on your phone. That way if someone hits it or tears it up, it won't come out of your check. One word of caution, turn your truck in to the yard they want it returned to or they can hit your DAC for "Left at unauthorized place." Which implies that they had to spend cash to get the truck back to where it was -suppose- to be.
