Im confused by what you mean about it being to far. you will be driving at least 500 miles a day so distance changes after awhile out here. as for werner It is a large company that will treat you like a renewable source, in other words you are nothing but a number. honestly I started with Swift and after 6 months of being treated like a number I ran away to the company im with now and its smaller and I am much happier here. You should call and apply at all the companies even the ones that say they need a year of experience as you may find a small family run place that will treat you well. But whatever you do dont let the nay sayers ruin your decision.

I'm with Gordon now, dispatcher knows me by name, truck has apu, 2000w inverter, new mattress. Plus many freebies werner never offered like atlas, company hat, life insurance (YES, that's FREE), and safety vest. Also better miles and pay. Shoulda made the switch a long time ago.

    Brandson Thanks this.

My plan to leave Werner is to request home time in Fontana. My car is there. Off load my stuff into the car, go inside, and turn in the keys. Werner got me back on the road after 14 months off. But low pay and short miles. ... have offers from 3 other companies, so jumping ship soon. Just don't abandon your truck. It will come back to haunt you.

Only about one in 20 new drivers actually stay in this business.
If you like getting sleep like a normal human being and if you have little kids, well, enough said.
Just the irregular sleeping part is hard enough, but when the little ones say they don't want daddy to be gone driving the big truck, that it for lots of people.

The lifestyle works for a small percentage of drivers but doesn't for lots more.

    Best way to quit Werner?
Don't go in the first place.

Dude in shiny cowboy boots and big buckle came trying to lure students from my school. He was a slick talker and deftly avoided the question of pay. He talked up the bonuses and all that, not saying that 26 cents is what you get. Split that if you drive team.

    Lol I get 21cents a mile plus a 4cent safety bonus so that's 25 cents...
