Finally, someone agrees with me. Are the roads any safer today with drug testing? Hardly,, I'm going out on a( weak) limb by saying, drugs weren't all that bad. People think drugs, oh, flying mushrooms turning into butterflys, running semis into church mini-vans,,just not so. The whole concept of drugs today takes on a different, more serious role, but back then, I never remember pileups, trucks running into the back of someone, FALLING ASLEEP, like the egg hauler, just didn't happen. Thanks to drugs? I realize to say that today, must seem monstrous to some, and with testing for running over an ant, I'd be afraid to do drugs and drive, but I don't think it makes them monsters behind the wheel. I too feel distracted driving is far worse, and that's okay? I just don't think drugs were as bad as made out to be, not to mention the gold mine in testing that happened. Again, I was a local/regional driver and never needed anything to stay awake except coffee,, or worse, awake on my off time, but I knew literally dozens of drivers with millions of safe miles that did drugs and made a pile of money too, ironically to pay for the drugs. You got your cheese to California and strawberries back in the 80s, partially thanks to drugs. Don't think so? You weren't there then. The industry would like to forget that, but that's the way it was.
How to report a drug using driver?
