i dont understand this thread. what your saying is when you are parked you cant leave your truck running to stay cool or warm when weather permits? even the military lets you run your vehicles on days that are considered "dangerous"

We don't personally use this particular product but it gives you an idea. We use recycled (cheap) units on our travel trailer road trips. Due to a health problem we have to keep me at a certain temp range. We don't generally stay at travel parks where there is electrical hookups so we improvise.

when it is real cold I use my sleeping bag if it's real hot I may burn my a/c but I pay for my own fuel so I don't worry about anyone telling me about that.

Some states have created laws that say you can-not Idle your truck more than 5 min. Wis. wants to follow suet and that is one state that gets to cold for me to shut er down!

Out here in California they are ticketing truckers at truck stops in unmarked pickups for idling. New stupid law.

It is my hopes that in Wis that enough truckers that deliver to receivers in this state will say no to the loads. I'll be driving straight thru that is for sure. But I go thru MI more than WI anyways.

What's so infuriating about that is that they KNOW the APU is gaining traction. They could have issued a 3 year compliance warning and grandfathered older trucks in for an additional 3 years.

But that would have been smart and humane, so excuse me.
