Try wrapping it in paper bags frozen then a block ice and even heaving quilt or something I have found Styrofoam containers under the bunk or good.

Or get rid of the 12v cooler buy a cheap strofoam cooler and drain the excess water in that. But you also risk tipping it.I've done that a few times.

I think ARB is made by Engel for them, I've had both and prefer the Engel.

It is an investment but unlike coleman and other coolers, these have been all over the world and beaten hard but still work. I don't get people when they want something cheap to keep food in, spending time to put ice in it, draining it, cleaning it and then many times having to dry out the food itself, please that's a PIA.

    Dry ice?

you guys do know the dangers of Dry Ice in a closed environment?

    What is dry ice?

When I did specialised freight, we had a lot of dry ice shipments and had to make sure we didn't close the doors in the box when we were in it.

Do yourself a favor, don't be cheap, buy the right tools for the right job.

Definitely, there are a few manufacturers of these. It will definitely change your life. Especially if you have to switch trucks, and don't have time to install an inverter for a regular fridge. Or if you can't have an inverter.

I've got the 12v Coleman and this is what I do. I freeze 8 bottles at home. Also, each meal is individually packed in zip lock bags, then packed into a Rubbermaid container and frozen too. The meals will stay frozen for about 6 days. Then they thaw out a bit but stay cool. I also bring fresh fruit cut up. But usually go through that in the first 5 days out. There is still room for about 10 more water bottles on top for drinking as well. I usually park before 1700 giving me plenty of time to cook and eat at a decent time. I use the 12v lunchbox. Dump contents of bag into metal bread pan. I was using individual containers but they take up to much space. Plus less air in the bags keeps some things a little fresher for a couple days longer. I'm only out at the longest 2 weeks so this works for me.
