I think there is a fair amount of confusion here. I don't like getting in the middle of these things but due to my experience I feel I should share my input. I DO NOT INTEND TO START A FIGHT GET FLAMED PLEASE. Just sharing experience.
I too have an ISX and had the VGT failure. My truck is a 2010 389 pete with a factory high tq 600. I purchased it already having a PDI stage 1 dpf delete and it averaged 5.3-5.5 MPG in that configuration. Approximatly 8 months after purchase the Vane actuator took a dump (A 700 or 800 dollar failure if I recall correctly, I may be wrong). About 5 months after that the whole turbo took a dive in a big way, pics posted elswhere on this forum. I contacted PDI in Utah about upgrading because that is who the previous owner had do the work, after numerous phone calls and getting no where I contacted Mr Haney.
Through his help and resources he came up with a parts combination that has returned me with an almost 2mpg gain and absolutely phoenominal power. The build was by no means cheep, but when you consider the ROI of an extra 2mpg and 0 down time from previous issues it becomes more and more apealing.
I have spent a vast amount of time (and money also) on the phone and in person talking with Mr. H and due to my experience have sent him other buisness and those are also satisfied customers. I consider Mr. H to be a superb buisness person and also a friend.

Here's my truck (pete) and another with truck that both have Mr Haneys efforts in.

Both won there classes this past weekend and we couldn't be happier
    Thanks again Mr. H

Nice pull rig wrench, what gear do you use?

I just did a vgt/egr/dpf delete on a 09 W900 using a pdi manifold and borg warner pdi stage 1 turbo, with diesel spec tune and install kit. Price in the canadain north for this customer was 7500 installed

I've got a small leak starting on my '04 ISX VGT at the waste gate actuator which means it's time to grit my teeth and spend some money. What can I expect to pay for a PDI manifold and Borg-Warner turbo job, out the door? I assume it will require an ECM re-programming to delete the VGT, yes? I'm considering having the shop in Utah do it. Bad idea?

Sorry for not responding sooner. I know my turbo and manifold was pricey but I got the ported/coated manifold and the nozzle ring turbo. I believe the standard manifold and stage 1 turbo would be fine for most applications. Not sure on labor as I did mine myself and I went through and painted everything I took off. But i would say they should be able to do it within a days lbor if there were no broken bolts in the head

I just got my truck back today- they rebuilt mine. It seems good to go now so hopefully I won't need the warranty. Turbo was $2k, and I also needed a new sensor, air filter, antifreeze, and an air dryer cartridge. Out the door with tax parts and labor it was $2680. Time to earn some money!

Just wondering on how you would replace the vgt turbo with a non vgt turbo on an ISX 15? I The actuator is on the data network and always given commands and looking for the position of the turbo nozzle ring to relay the information back to the ecm. If this is by passed or unplugged then you would have a constant check engine light with a engine derate.

Probably have to delete it from the ecm parameters...

Hi, you have to have the ecm tuned to delete the vgt. I've heard a couple different numbers between $800-$1200 just to delete the turbo from ecm.
