Boring life without taking some risks.
I was in Sint Maarten one time and starting chatting with an older guy from New York. He was with a beautiful young blonde woman. We were having a few drinks and enjoying the conversation. He said he caught his wife with her boyfriend and decided some payback. Said his children were lazy and disrespectful to him unless he gave them money, nice clothes and a car. So, he reached his tipping point. Without telling anyone, he sold his business, bought a sailboat and didn't know anything about sailing. He ran an ad for someone that can sail and another ad for a cook & companion. They had been to several islands already and his next goal was to go through the Panama Canal and visit some islands in the Pacific including Hawaii, then later to San Francisco.
See, this guy took lots of risks and enjoying his new lifestyle.
Yeah, after he was at sea, heading South, he notified his ungrateful wife and children that he's out of there life forever. His children were young adults by the way. They all started yelling at him on the phone, "What about the house payment, what about the car payments."
He said, "Not my problem, ask your mothers boyfriend; he seems to want my family, so now that his problem."
