Never tried it but seeing the current bid on the jobs and looking at the distance 95% are so cheap I can't see how anybody would make any profit in a pickup, let alone a straight truck or tractor trailer.

You must not be looking very hard.

Less than 2 minutes of looking I found the attached

Not really sure what a shaver hd8 is but it only weighs 500 lbs and traveling 700 miles for $1700

Well everything I found were stuff like cars going halfway across the country for $250/each or furniture going a couple hundred miles for like $100. I've never found anything on there paying well enough for me to even bother roll out of bed for.

I used it a few years ago as a carrier. Every once in a while, there will be a decent paying load that has to move. The general idea is that if it can be put in or pulled behind a pickup truck, it will probably be cheap. Quite a few shippers are just shopping for a price point or get scared away by ridiculously high bids, so you might not even get a bid accepted or a reply to questions you've asked.

There are a few reasons why I stopped using it. They operated like a brokerage without having a bond or license. Operating as a legitimate carrier is optional. You get a badge that says you're SAFER verified, but they still allow illegitimate carriers to compete with you without needing DOT numbers, insurance, or anything else that is required. They also take a cut from the shipper and the carrier, which was something like 16.5% each. If the entire process was not automated, and they verified that carriers are compliant, I wouldn't have as much of an issue with how much they charge. Ultimately, I stopped using it when they wanted my personal social security number to give to a third party who handles their payments. They would not allow me to use the company EIN, and they wouldn't let me accept or bid on loads unless I gave them my SSN.

That’s what the bed is but that don’t mean that’s what the lowest bid is going to be or if they’ve even excepted it!!!

I understand how it works.....but if we are going to be consistent you can’t look at what the prices of what somebody WANTS to ship a product for either.
