I think Tip meant something more along the lines of the trucks rolling off the assembly line equipped with detectors, and I agree. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, the government should require them. But I don't like the idea of the government stepping in and doing that, either. It should be something builders install naturally. If they can put a cigarette lighter on board, or even those red lights down by a driver's feet, they can put a CO detector in the cab. Wish they were that concerned. But they're not, so the government, unfortunately, must step in and make sure the right action is taken.

If you use a portable buddy heater that uses the small screw on propane tanks make sure your windows are rolled down at least 2 inches for venting. This winter in Louisville,ky a guy died in his cargo van using one of these and didnot vent his windows. I have used them myself and they work ok but tended to make me sick.

You get sick from it? Surprise, surprise. I wonder why?
You'll need to do more than just roll down the windows. You need to circulate the air so all the carbon monoxide can escape. You are playing with fire here. Say goodbye to some brain cells. Next time you may be saying goodbye to your life. Watch that nasty called carbon monoxide.
