I have 7 years of commerical driving experience driving for a courier, do that count as experience for companies that are hiring for ppl driving tractor trailer? By courier experience I mean bobtailing and driving trucks that a normal G license can drive.

I lied to a paki to get a job he didnt find out until i was halfway through the rogers pass. haha. needless to say i still have the job and went on a second trip. I hear that I will have a hard time getting paid. you have to work for free to get experience now? this industry is so whack. nobody helps any new people get in .....alot of these guys would know there is a big huge storm ahead and just watch you go to make themselves look good .....

I applied at as many different trucking companies as I could and I just got ######## lucky and impressed the right boss with the right attitude and eagerness to learn. He gave me a chance and was very lenient with me and teaching me things.

Like others have said, try some warehouses or something where you might drive one day and be in the warehouse the next..

    Here's what's wrong.

Your young, with no experience. You don't have a leg to stand on, demanding better than $15hr. Get over yourself.
Your not worth more than that to most trucking companies. You haven't paid "your dues", so to speek.

    Here's how to solve it.

As has already been suggested, get a job soemwhere, and get off your lazy a z z, and start working. Prove to your boss that your worth the money they pay you.
