And you are also putting out false internet info too. How about giving the fear mongering a break. This virus is serious. What's worse is going to be the destruction of the US economy. There are a lot of reasons for these high death rates overseas.
How will you handle getting Corona virus while OTR?

As I've said I am not panicking or fear mongering. I am simply saying exercise some common sense.
Perhaps there needs to be a "joke thread" for the virus, to allow people to have fun, and leave the regular threads to facts. Might keep the topic from breaking down. Just a thought. -
I just had the bejusus scared out of me over the last week. I tested negative, but am still under orders to self isolate. I have been exposed to this dang bug. My apartment has been scrubbed so much I still smell the chemicals. I now know five people that have it. Two have fully recovered. Two are showing very mild symptoms and one is in the hospital out of caution because of a recent episode of pneumonia. This is what I am seeing.
Linte_Loco and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -

I want to make one more point. I try to stay balanced in regard to my politics and where I source my news. I am watching one so-called expert say go take the anti-malaria meds, then I see another so-called expert say NO they are too dangerous. The same can be said of some government health officials. Their words back during the H1N1 flu problem are different than today. The H1N1 was responsible for deaths that reached 5 figures. If I have to choose between a possible infection and the shutting down of this country I will choose the infections. Speaking of infections. I am starting to hear some reports that there might well be millions of (YES MILLIONS) that might be infected and don't know it. If this is true because of the way they figure the math, these death rates might be on par with the flu! This is like everything else when in a crisis, only time will tell.

yeah I saw people posting that those "work." But regular news yesterday said no, they don't. It is bad misinformation or way to soon to assume something like that. Reality is it is gonna be 12-18 months before we have anything to "help" with this virus. So if you see any vaccine or treatment in less than 6 month's time. Assume it is BS.

Just in the last 24 hours, I can add two more people I know that have tested positive. Bringing up that total to 7. The last one is a great aunt and she is almost 90. So far 3 just have mild symptoms, 2 totally recovered, 2 in the hospital. All 7 in isolation.Linte_Loco Thanks this. -

I'm typing this from memory. I might be making a mistake in some places. The way I understand this process to be, the medical community has to follow some strict protocols using double-blind testing. This means both the physician and the patient don't know if what is being given and took is the real medication or just a placebo. Then after a test period, they look at the results. This is one of the reasons it takes years and major money to develop and bring a drug to the market. These anti-malaria drugs are already approved, just not approved for this use. I believe the President has cut a lot of the FDA bureaucracy to cut this testing time, and there are already controlled testing being done now. As Dr Oz has said, 6 days should tell the tale in regard to the people with this, in critical condition and given these drugs.
