I have gotten into tricky situations as well. The longer I drive, the less it happens. I am " lazy" and like to take the easy road.

Seems to me that the driver's best solution in this case is as follows: Shut the truck down. Get out of the cab, and lock it up. Proceed on foot to nearest coffee shop and relax for the rest of the day. More than likely, when the driver returns to the intersection, the problem will have already been solved for him.:D
'course there is the outside chance that he could lose his job over it...

tinytim, okiedokie, Lepton1 and 4 others Thank this.

    Experience helps.

The last time it happened to me was when I took some side roads on residential streets to avoid a blind side back into an ally.
Narrow roads, lots of trees, and I missed a cable that was hanging too low. I took it down.
I was tagged with a preventable accident, even though the codes required a 14 foot clearance for the lines.

But stuff happens, and none of us are immune to making mistakes.
And it has nothing to do with the company you work for.

Heathar, Big Don and DoubleO7 Thank this.

Yesterday... traffic all ways was tied up for about 10 min.. This overpass on I-40 to the left of the pic was just redone to a crossover pattern.. so traffic cuts to the left and then swings back right... he had traffic tied up 3 lights back... He should have been in the far left before going under the overpass to hit the freeway ramp, he was in the middle lane..

    1. Back up and let the cars by.
    2. Slide tandems all the way forward.
    3. Make the turn, flipping the bird to anyone with a frown on their face. ;-)

I am lazy and like to take the easy road. Couldn't have said it better myself. I feel sorry for the new drivers just starting out with the big uglies.
