I agree with everyone on the method of scooting over if I can for the on coming vehicles if I can't then well if I am slightly ahead I'll keep my foot in it if they are ahead and still accelerating then I'll throttle back to let em on... Courtesy does go along way specially with the morons in CA or OR that are on the road...

For the backing off so a passing truck can get back over... Since I DESPISE both being stuck in the hammer lane or being next to another truck for a long period of time I do back off for a second or so to allow them to complete the pass.. and in the case of me being in the left lane since couldn't stay slowenough to keep behind someone if I can't get all the way passed (or they won't let me over) after about 1-2 miles of trying then I even throw in the towel and drob back in behind them granted I'll probably jump on the radio and make a few "comments" about the drivers abilities and actions...

Keep your foot in it and let the merging vehicle work it out. Thats the law Besides most merging vehicles will strand you in the left lane if you make room for them anyway. The merging vehicle has the obligation to fit in, which means speed up, slow down or do backflips
