Dogs are smarter than people? I guess that's why dogs rule the world.

I will say this again, experience does not equal intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to solve complex problems with no experience in the matter.

I am not knocking experience I'm just saying there is a difference.

Maybe I didnt make my point well enough. Put it this way.......most of your dispatchers will tell you how to do your job, ask why you couldnt deliver on time, and (a lot of times) think your job is as simple as "just driving". All because he works around this industry and "has knowledge", BUT he probably has little or no experience in a truck. Having his "knowledge" doesnt mean he has all the answers. Just the same as if/when you go to truck driving school, they teach you what you need to know to get your CDL and some about driving truck but that does not make you a trucker.......you need to hit the road and get that real world experience and see the real life situations first hand.

Personally, I will listen to whoever has valuable advice. IT makes no diffrence to me whether you know how to spell/punctuate or not. As I said in my first post, this doesnt apply to everyone.....there are many who have a very high intelligence and have no clue how to apply their education to life, and at the same time there are guys who never made it through high school and yet they have the most real world common sense you could hope for. BUT, this does not mean that everyone who has an educated and are well versed lack common sense. And in the same sense, not everyone who posts rediculously have the brains God gave a goose. Some are simply uneducated and they cant decipher their own stupid bumblings and blabberings any easier than you or I can.

what does that have to do with being book smart and whether or not someone knows appropriate spelling and grammar?

your prior post implies that intelligence comes out of book learning....which is in itself an experience...

btw, intelligence is defined as: Understanding; skill; the ability to comprehend; to understand and profit from experience

Griz, theres a mathematical equation for following distance, but the 4 wheelers will keep whipping in front of you, I maintain that the more valuable info in real life would be an experienced driver that shows you you need to cut it down at times to prevent the more dangerous getting cut off.

Problem, problem description, Potential root causes, running tests, most likely root cause, emergency containment action, permanent containment action,
Intelligence- Potentially solving problems, Proving the problems are solved or not , is usually lived by the regular workers or consumers , while the supposed intelligent are slapping themselves in the back and not getting it.

To prove a problem root cause has been identified is simple, you have to be able to make the failure mode disappear and reappear by inserting then removing the particular root cause, hell even my dog knows that HAHA.

....... and hoping to be wiser man has reached too far, some times I think that we've advanced , but then I look at where we are..... From the Song Deja Vu Larry Norman
