So which type of pay do you all prefer? Millis seems to have a few choices with the perdiem and non perdiem, the household and practical miles.
I know taking the non perdiem is better for getting loans because it shows your gross pay is higher.
It may be better ( if it still there when we need it) for calculating your social security when the time comes.

There are some regional trainers, but they are all "grandfathered" in and they will not allow any NEW regional trainers. The problem is trainers need the bigger trucks and they can't haul the heavy loads us regional guys usually get. I can scale over 50,000 lbs in the van and I think the T-660s can only handle about 47,000 lbs, maybe less. I am 49,000- 50,000 lbs on a regular basis.

On the road test for Millis, do they want you to talk out a full pre trip inspection?
I would have to practice up on that, haven't done that in years. -
The road test is usually just hook up and take it on the road and backing. They may ask some questions, but it's not an in depth pre-trip
-
When you do the road test for the company you already have passed your state cdl test, so really no need to go that far in depth. Just the basic maneuvers to see if you need more training or are ready to go.
rubberducky68 Thanks this. -
thanks guys, which pay do you prefer?
just did my taxes online, the non perdiem works out pretty good for me.
have a good week everyone, be safe, Paul -
I always recommend the straight pay unless you need to lower your taxable income for some reason.
I am on HHG miles too. In many cases the mileage is the same and HHG pays more but you get less vacation time. -
You can still claim per diem at the end of the year either way. Just thought I'd add that.

Hello again....when you guys run out east and park for the night in one of the no idleing states.......how do you keep cool on a hot muggy night?
Right now I really don't run farther east than Ohio, so I just idle if I have to.
I'm still doing research on switching companies....Millis is one of the best from what I have read. -
Well, sent in my first info to Millis today, just the short form inquiry.
Every time I get settled and ready to call Millis it's Saturday afternoon and there isn't anyone there, so maybe they can call me and I can get started.
I know I have read it somewhere and I if I remember right the vacation depends on the type of pay you take.
Could someone share that info with me or tell me where it is posted? thanks
This week out I'm gonna try and catch a few Millis drivers at the truckstops and talk to them about their experience......have a safe day everyone
