Wasn't my experience. I hate working days and pretty much refuse to do it again. I fought like a mother####er to get onto nighttime linehaul. I even volunteered to work other terminals for months at a time in hotels to no avail. Nobody with a CDL wanted to work the dock. And rightfully so, climbing around on your knees on those godforsaken rack bars was pure misery.

Man I had a great setup on that day run too. I thought I was safe because it was a Tuesday-saturday so most those guys aren't getting up on a Saturday. There are way more shenanigans at night than there are during the day!
-
if Linehaul was days everyone would do it. But the time it takes nights to get a day shift cause of all the old guys holding on too long is the problem. One of my jobs would take me 20+ years to see daylight. I would look like Santa Claus by the time I could get it. Not worth it unless you’re into it for the money.road_runner and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.

dang that’s not a bad shift at all. And having Sunday Monday off is just as nice.

Bro it was so lovely AND my meet person ended up getting surgery so the guy I was meeting agreed to run through every Saturday! So, I'm working 6 days guaranteed every week, I'm in Texas partying, attending race events and did I mention the money? Bro the money was great.
It was like getting paid to have fun. I didn't mind it one bit. The cut time was 0530 but usually a relay was there so I was at the terminal 0200 every morning. I was gone by 0300 at the latest 0330. I was back home before NOON most days bro! My meet person was just like me
We show up early and leave early.hope not dumb twucker, hotrod1653, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this. -
dang sounds like the real good life. It’s awesome when u get someone like minded that just wants to get #### done. I bet the money was amazing. I’ve been getting the itch to get back into ltl. Waiting on another position to open. Right now im furloughed lol

Why? Who were you running with? One thing I like about Estes is the company is PRIVATE! They pretty much do whatever they want. If you needed money here, you can run the extra board until you fall out.
In my experience, they will feed you as much as you can handle... Ask @Nickanator1988 lol
I hope I tagged the right guy -
I’m working for government contract. But just super bored of the work and want to be an actual truck driver. lol I would love that. They just opened a spot here but I guess I applied to late so now have to wait till new one comes along. They seem to open it quite often.
-
That’s the way to roll. Beat the traffic if you can.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

I'm 2 hours early no matter the run. I can't help it man. It's a habit I formed and I just can't break it. If the load ready, they usually just let you go. I take the big sleeper trucks so if I have to wait, I'll just lay in bed.
I don't see the sense In making these runs last longer than they should. I just come in, do my job as efficiently and safely as possible and go home.
Today is also my 8 year anniversary at Estes.road_runner, Cardfan89, Albertaflatbed and 5 others Thank this.
