This is exactly why I don't get into union debates. Too each there own, non union for my first 16 years driving. and the last almost 10 being union.

Ya it’s senseless. Usually union drivers don’t have much to say about non union companies it’s the non union people talking bad about union but is what it is. I have also worked both non union and union my personal preference after experiencing both is union but hey everyone’s different.

Your right I misread it I was gonna say that’s an extreme amount but it’s actually not bad at all seeing that that is what they contribute not you. I don’t know about the young and old thing you say I mean the younger guys are chasing the money your right and I’m young myself but thinking more long term. We have had guys come from a bunch of the top non union carriers and come work with us and they love it and after doing the math pay comes to about the same I know most of the non union carriers pay more per hour hour most don’t have money overtime and I have to contribute to your health insurance and such. I myself will like to have my 401k plus a pension check plus the very low cost health insurance provided by the teamsters after retirement. To each their own

Haha alright I call a truce between all union and non union drivers lol. All we are doing is trying to provide for our family. No more bickering for me

He is extremely anti Union, so you are the one he decided to pick a fight with today. He falsely accused you of being in a pension plan that he had no proof you were in. When you corrected him by stating you weren’t in that plan he still has to show you his anti union rhetoric. You can bet if a Union Guy picked the fight with him or any non union the Mods would stop the Union talk almost immediately. 35 years of trucking for me, roughly 27 as a Teamster and I would still be a Teamster if the opportunity’s for a Union carhaul owner op were better than my Non union current gig. I don’t discriminate, I pick what is best for me.
