Why are you asking other people when you should be able to find this out for yourself with little effort.

Yeah, TWC, tune in for the latest in crab catching or some other stupid, useless, non-weather related show. Terrible. Cantore should be ashamed. I've found most rest stops have travel info, and radar, and of course the CB radio( static), I believe chains are required to be carried after Sept. 1( in Colorado), and we've had a little in the hills, but still warm enough, not a concern.
Did you get the funky ride figured out? Keep us posted, eh?Rugerfan and nextgentrucker Thank this. -

When I was on the road I would use two sources for winter road conditions, one can be found right here on this forum - Weather & Road Conditions Popular Threads - and the other is Accuweather under the "severe weather" subtopic - https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/severe-weather - that is today, 10/17/2025.
The silly season (winter) is too long and dangerous to be out there just counting on timing and luck, and btw, good luck to you...nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
I-80 looks pretty good right now, no major snow or ice reported from Iowa to Sacramento.
Weather can always change of course, so it’s smart to keep an eye on it by using DOT-cameras. It’s also nice to peek at the road before you hit it.
