He also said if you cant get it within 4 times then perhaps trucking is'nt for you.Backing is not that hard he says, then why do so many have trouble with it when learning?Yes his nerves got the best of him but no state should limit your chances when you invested a lot of time and money into school and learning.I bet to get a regular drivers license you can have as many tries as you so desire till you pass.

No actually according to the state of Ohio if you also fail the driving portion of your test in a passenger car four times you have to wait six months then start all over. It has nothing to do with the state hating trucks.

Well I do know they hate trks.Seeing howmany get pulled over proves that.I received a speeding ticket and wasn't even speeding.I was doing 50.Must have been 5 trks in that area getting ticketed. So why the 6 months? Why not let them retry say after 2 weeks or a month. My state you get as many times as you want.Everything I did fine except my alley dock.It took me along time to finally get my CDL.I wasn't nervous with the examiner but I found those orange cones pretty intiminating.

Opinion's vary pattj....you see it differently than I do. If someone has anxiety issues when testing...then I really think it would be much , much , worse for them , once they get out on their own alone...I'm thinking this was windsmith's reasoning too.

It said if you fail you may retry every seven days, but after the fourth failure you must wait six months and then start all over again. I don't make the rules.

Everyone is different. My wife has a pretty stressful job. Been doing it 20+years, is requested by many clients. But God help her when she has to take a state test! She gets so nervous its scary. Also in my own experience, when teaching guys to drive heavy equipment or haying equipment they do much better when they dont realize Im watching. The more you do something the more comfortable it gets. Im sure many of you drive and back up with no hesitation ever. But you were not like that the first day. JMHO.. Hang in there brother. Babe Ruth was also the strike out king!
