It's done that way on purpose so you don't put the #1 diesel in your truck tank. Also, reefer fuel isn't sold from a separate pump. It's sold from the same pump you use to fill your truck tank with.

Driving a truck for 20 years is irrelevant. I've been driving for 12 and I'm currently in school to become an ASE certified diesel mechanic. But even that's irrelevant. The EPA requires fuel pumps to have a #2 diesel placard regardless of whether or not they sell #1, and the post I responded to that started this mele was because of said placard.

^^ Ok, whatever you say. Attention reefer drivers I have news, You will have to seek out #1 diesel to put into your reefer, and be sure to not put #1 in your truck. The drivers running northern Canada are going to have real issues being told they can't run #1 diesel

    rank and osokusmc Thank this.

It's also worth noting that ULSD was introduced into the market in '06. So basically, you ran #1 diesel for over half of your career.

Im sure you have better things to do with your life than to troll people, because you're coming across as foolish, and rather pompous for throwing your experience into the discussion. Somehow I seriously doubt you've been driving for 20 years.

I put some #1 in my tanks at every fill up this winter. You can find it in all the northern states.

The diesel I pump into my Super Duty isn't the same as the diesel I pump into my rig?.....

It doesn't matter where you pump the fuel from as long as you don't pump dyed disel into an on-road truck and...You report your mileage and fuel quarterly to your respective SBOE.....
Btw...OR doesn't charge taxes at the rack.....
To purchase fuel in OR...Drivers are required to give the IFTA lic# to the attendants....
Or that's what they always did when I used run through OR and fill up at 7 Feathers or the Love's in Roseburg....

How many of the large chains sell Dyed Diesel?....

Most of the time...Drivers a pumping On-Road Diesel into their reefer tanks or auxiliary tanks...Then that is reported on the Quarterly for Off-road use....

Please show us where say the larger chains have separate pumps or separate lanes to fill the reefer...
Most will ask "Tractor only or do you have a reefer?".....
If you have a reefer...That will be reflected on the receipt...
