Hum when inverter is running.

Well I don't know if a filter would help, no one seems to be asking the right questions.

SO I will.

Let's start with this question - did this start out of the blue or you just get into this truck?

Then the next question is describe what you mean by hum?

Like is it like a 60 hz sound (low hum) or noise like static?

Then the next question is this - did you disconnect the coax to see if the sound goes away?

AND another question is this - do you have anything hooked up to the inverter when you turn it on and the noise appears or is everything disconnected and it still happens?

It's a low hum, not static. I just changed radios. I had a Cobra 29 before and there was always a slight hum with or without the inverter running. I still have that with the radio I'm using now but it gets a lot worse when the inverter is running. It is not affected by the volume knob. It's constant regardless of the volume.

Ok then that's a power issue. Let's start with making sure all the connections to the inverter is clean and tight.

The second test is a little more involved, taking power off of the batteries for the CB to see if the noise is still there.
