Again people,,, even NY'ers tend to forget there's more to NYC than Manhattan.
(one of the many frustrating things about living among the privleged few)

So when Mike says get out, he's talking to the peeps on the Rockaways,,, but of course people in the Battery panic (how,,, exactly, will a 5' flood affect a two bedroom in a 40 story high rise?) And Anderson "got my ### beat in Cairo, good thing they didn't know I was gay" Cooper, iroically enough was doing a live shot from (NY's Gay capital) Greenwich Village. (Folks you CANNOT make this #### up!)

Actually while most of the major talking heads were grousing about "hmm, not much happend after all" THEIR OWN MAPS were showing upstate NY and Vermont getting POUNDED with water.

Umm, guys maybe you want a live shot from Albany or Syracuse? How about Hartford, CT? The Connecticut river gets real wide real fast when it floods.

Mostly it was an excersize in morbid curiousty about how these media people can't even see what's in front of them. When I went to college, the Jounalism students were the laziest, drunks on campus. And everytime I watch the news I think not much has changed.

Anyway,,, here's an aeiral pic of the Rockaways. It's less than a 1/4 mile from Atlantic Ocean to Sheepshead Bay.
