So what good did the new driver do with their truck with the highways shut down?
    ....something don't add up here
And they flew him in during a hurricane? To get a truck that wasn't able to run the highways

My point exactly @superflow .....but apparently @Calverson2014 isn't willing to share the whole story; just have us absorb what little he gave us (Hurricane Express sucks). Every time he answers a question it gets even more confusing.

Of course Hurricane Express was concerned about their truck...they knew they were gonna have to retrieve it any way, because the OP abandoned it. Taking too long for the company to get him home wasn't the ONLY thing that ticked the OP off...it was just the "last straw".

OTR driving makes simplest things hard or impossible to do, especially if there is little help at home. Hurricane evacuation while doing OTR for a generic penny pinching-we do not give a flip about a driver trucking outfit would overload my circuits. White Dog bleeds his heart for that poor company that had to recover its unproductive truck in FL just because some nonlife driver' could not arrange evacuation logistics warp speed while on the road. Shaking my head.

No, @White Dog, like everyone else, is speculating as the op will not elaborate. 99% of the time when we hear two sides of the story it comes out the poster complaining about the company did something stupid. I've seen anywhere from abandoning a truck, to pulling a hole in the oil pan, missing several appointments in 2 weeks, and a ton of other shenanigans.

Now, what we know from the op. The op was unwilling to leave, but it was safe enough to send in another driver to recover the truck and for him to drive out. That's about all. What should we think in that case?

After you've been reading the bad companies forum for a few more months, you'll likely be cynical too. :)

    Exactly.

White Dog's heart bleeds for very, very, very, very, very few humans and/or entities of any form.
My family, my friends, and childhood cancer are pretty much my short list of **** that my heart would bleed for. Everyone, and everything else can pretty much kiss my ***.
Is that clear enough for ya? LOL!
