A couple of rattle caans of near match paint would be cheap and look good from far. Just a thought

I get home and roll n the sheets for one night with momma and the next day there is a 4 page deep thread on some door slammer who wishes they could be as unique as me.
There is no mistaking the original Hurst hoopty.

LOL.... I saw that one the way to work and just had to mess with you... I even turned around so I could get a picture. Like I said before, I saw the truck and thought I could have fun.... LOL How often do you see another green freight shaker with a black hood? Besides that, you would probably freeze up here in the summer.... LOL
On another note, you mentioned in another thread about replacing your trailer sometime. Have you thought about what is basically a 48' spread with a 5' dovetail on the back.More maneuverable than your 53 but still have the length. -
And built in rampstsavory, passingthru69, Hurst and 1 other person Thank this.

Yes I have,.. Doonan and MAC both make one with 3 flip up ramps that convert the deck to 53' for doing regular flatbed stuff. The Mac is actually a 53' designed with the dovetail where the Doonan is a 48' with a 5' dovetail bolted to the back of it.
The MAC is a bit heavier. I still have some research to do. Trying to find a light aluminum step that will be strong and tuff enough to handle the heavier track machines.
I'm pulling an all aluminum Willson tri axle right now and its really growing on me. Make it a 53' with 22.5 wheels on a spread instead of the 17.5 wheels and I'd be 80% sold on it.
I'm trying to find a heavy track machine to load on it. I want to see how the ramps and deck do with the weight. I dont want to see any deck deflection or weakness. Nothing yet paying enough to book it. Probably going to end up dead heading up to Ga tomorrow, Couple places up there I know has equipment to move that pays decent rates.
The other side of the coin is that I will be replacing my Columbia with a 96 - 99 379 soon. Come July I will be parking my truck for the summer and going on a truck hunt. I have the cash now,.. looking for anything in the $30k - $60k range,.. price I pay will be dependent on the condition of the truck. I'll pull my Fontaine with it at first,.. then either sell or trade in my Fontaine.

Nice sized fuel tanks on her by the looks of it.peterbilt_2005 and Hurst Thank this.
-
150 gal each. I dont start looking for fuel until after 900mi. Usually get fuel before 1200 mi,..but have done over 1400 - 1500 mi between fuel stops with the gauge still between 1/8 - 1/16 tank. I've never taken it to dead empty,.. not sure why,.. just paranoid about running out of fuel I guess.
Hursttsavory and peterbilt_2005 Thank this. -
Nice! That black International I was running had large fuel tanks... I don't remember exactly their capacity but not having a DEF tank in the way taking up space allowed for it (MaxxForce). The Cascadia I'm running on the other hand... If I want to park with full tanks on a long drive-all-day type of run, I'll be fueling twice...Hurst Thanks this.

What does a 379 weigh over your current truck?
Too bad you can't put that nice rebuilt debugged Cat in your next truck.
