I can tell you, from my experience that no driver is truly ready when they are on their own the first time. It is something we have all dealt with. Nothing can prepare a person for the first time they get lost in a 75 ft truck on a side street at 3:00 AM on a dark night looking for a shipper. There is no one to bail you out and you have to learn to safely deal with the situation.

Yeah, that's what he though, that's why he's still with him over two weeks later. Actually we were thinking since his truck didn't have pink drapes that it was a bad deal but that was just the first red flag.

As a previous trainer here at Swift I can tell you that after 200 hours he is not really comfortable going at alone he can talk to driver services and tell them his concerns and they probably will place him with another mentor until he is comfortable with going at it alone, or give him some extra training in house. They will work with him.
