Wife and I started orientation today at R&L today. 3 years of experience OTR, first time pulling doubles. Should be interesting! Any tips are welcome!

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread. I'm interested in R&L OTR with my wife.
    Keep on posting updates.
    Thanks.

How much recent experience do they require?
Do you need to buy a Pallet jack doing OTR?
How does the pay and benefits look?
    100s more questions to come:D

I definitely will! If you haven't already make sure to check out Indiana Mike's thread. He has a lot of great info and it's what I used to to make the decision to come to R&L.

They require 1 year experience in the last 3 years of tractor trailer exp. If you're teaming they don't need require you to buy a pallet jack that's for city guy/gals.

Pay looks great, they said we would be making around $2000-$2200 each running wild out of the Sanger terminal. We haven't had a chance to look at the benefits yet, but the resorts that are free for employees and time off alone look great! Gonna go over the benefits more tomorrow, but everyone I talked to seems to love the insurance!

I've been out for awhile and wife has been driving bus. We need to get some recent experience to qualify but we're looking for an end goal. R&L may be it.

The two best pieces of advice:

    1. Stay on a solid 12 hours shift, don't flex it more than 45 minutes so you are well rested.

    2. Hook your set the same way EVERYTIME... If you are interrupted, start over. It seems like that's when people have to chat me up!

Apply anyway or take your resume into the terminal and speak to HR. Ask them what they require. We applied for our job when we didn't even have our licences or enrolled in school. They gave us the guidance needed to get hired.
