He didn't need to drink to sleep. Benedryl is easier to get than a bottle on the road and it's legal.

As a teenager, I made the mistake of riding to the store and back with my girlfriend's mother's 40ish year old drunk boyfriend. On the way back from the store he was driving real slow like he did on the way to the store. Naturally a car passed us. That somehow offended the drunk and a high speed chase ensued including multiple attempts to wreck the other vehicle. Luckily, I survived that night.

IMO, even if you stay with your husband, you should still legally divorce him. Remove yourself from the financial liability of his actions.

Just imagine the things he HASN'T TOLD YOU... you're not around 98% of the time. He's proven untrustworthy.

Could've avoided this by getting an uber/cab.

Loss of income 5 years @50k a year $250,000 in loss income. Uber could have saved all this with a $15 fare.

Married for just a year...commitment or test period....interesting and hard decisions to make.

Since he is licensed out of CA, I will assume (dangerous word that one)...that you reside in CA. The FMCSA has specific, non-negotiable rules regarding DUI's and speed: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/title49/section/383.51

Upon CONVICTION, his CDL is gone for a minimum of 1 year. And depending on his previous record (non CDL) it is impossible to say how the court will dictate a sentence and/or fine. CA DMV will by law REVOKE his license (there is no multi-level licensing in CA) to drive for a minimum of 1 year, and possible for 15 months due to the inclusion of a Reckless driving citation.

Good luck on your decision....did you make a promise of better or worse to God or to a justice of the peace? Big difference BTW.
