We need help, my husband rear-ended another semi. Police report didn't cite him, although we know if you rear-end someone it's your fault. Werner fired him, and they won't let him ride on my truck (we are team drivers). What we need is a company that will hire both of us. The accident is the only thing on his drivers record for the last three years. Does anyone know of a company that would take us? We have 8 months experience only...

With a accident like that on his MVR, his choices of employment are nil. Rear-end collisions are career ending accidents. The same can be said for roll-overs. He's gonna have to wait a minimum of 3 years for the points to clear from the MVR. Even after then, he's still going to have a hard time finding a job.
-
It is NOT a career ending accident, nor is a rollover.
But you WILL have to work at finding a driving job, especially given your home-20.
Prepare to do some serious job hunting !!!!
Good Luck !!07-379Pete Thanks this. -
Alright, if it's not then elighten me on what company would hire a driver with a rollover or rear-end collision on a MVR and not CSA report. Not CRE, not Swift, Prime, etc. That is a serious slash on your MVR. Remember that 6 points or more on a MVR will render your CDL suspended.
-
TN is 12 points.
Most states are similar. That's about a 5-7 point charge according to my state. -
He was not cited,
why would he receive points ???? -
Good catch
I was responding to Robin's sidekick.

What the hell are you talkin about? Your not gonna loose your CDL over 6 points.
And you forgot to add JB Hunt and Schneider to your list of big box carriers. I guess you think every one wants to or has to work for them or there the only trucking companys hiring.
Please dont dis Robin like that.
Now to the problem at hand with the OP.
While a rear end crash is bad its not the end of his career, the fact he had one and with only 8 months behind the wheel is gonna make it tougher to find a job. Now if in fact he was not cited and he dose still have a clean MVR there is hope he can get a job with a small carrier or a route driver untill he has at least 2 years in.123456 Thanks this. -
If he wasn't cited, and Werner's insurance pays out the damages, the only thing will be what Werner puts on his DAC. So, it's not the end of the world by any stretch. Companies have a hard time finding teams, so you guys might be able to slip in someplace, because basically, it's a DAC problem, not a CSA point problem

You apparently didn't see the 'etc' word in my post.
Every carrier will look at a MVR. That's a given.mtnMoma Thanks this.
