Lenrod, I have a few friends that run for Landstar and they are very happy there! Since you have experience have you also looked at Celadon? They have an interesting plan. Also the air freight companies I would look into. Unless you want to relocate to Florida and I could get you a #### good job!

I read the HOS rules on the FMCSA site today. I think I have a clear understanding of how it works for a single driver. But we are wondering how couples schedule thier driving time to stay in compliance and also have some time together? I could see how we could run it if we never wanted any time together....but we want to sleep together sometimes! Can some of you couple drivers give me some examples of how you run and still have time for each other? I read somewhere about running like a "super single"driver....can someone explan that to me?

One drives a full HOS, the other takes over logging their time in the bunk as off duty.
What me and my trainee's did after 3 weeks of training.Lenrod Thanks this. -
A super single driver is like a husband/wife team that each drives their own truck.
If you want time to sleep together I don't recommend teaming. If you are sleeping together the truck isn't moving, therefore you aren't teaming. You will have your days occasionally when you can spend some time in the bunk together but you really want to limit this. Teams are expected to run 1000 a day or 7000 a week. If you are running less than 5500-6000 a week then you really can't justify both of you being out there. It just isn't worth it.
If you breakdown or have a little time in to shut down for a bit then go for it. When my wife and I ran team, trust me we saw plenty of each other! When we had time off we would usually go do our own thing to take a break for a bit away from each other.Lenrod Thanks this. -
time togther will depend on the load and how much time you have to make it
a load that is 1000 miles that has 20hr's will not give you time, the same load with 30hrs will give you time
how much time between loads 2hr's, 18hr's,,
when we are running hard 6400 miles in 6 days we only see eachother when we change but then we'er down for 34hr's
their realy is no hard ruleLenrod Thanks this. -
