I'm looking for a new antenna set up and have been debating on a Hustler antenna.

It's my understanding that back in the day, the HQ-27 was the bee's knees.

However, I've heard mixed reviews of their products over the past couple of years.

What's the general consensus on them?

I think they are a very good and durable antennas. I posted this on another thread....

I drove a 2006 378 Peterbilt for over 10 years, and I had a Hustler FG27S 4ft antenna on it. About 7 years later with lots of rough gravel roads and railroad tracks that I drove over on a daily basis delivering loads, the antenna finally broke off. I put one on my boss's truck too, and it still looks like brand-new on his truck. I thought about getting the Hustler HQ27 antenna which is 55 inches tall. I just never got around to trying that antenna. It's rated for 250 watts which isn't a problem for me since I don't use amps. Lou Franklin has a picture of this antenna on his car, on one of his repair books. So it can't be too bad.
