I have a load from Willows Ca to Boise with a stop in Fruitland, Id. Donner has the chain law up but I could run thru Oregon up to Bend then over 20 to Fruitland. It's actually a little shorter that way but once I get to Bend it will be new roads for me. Good idea or not?

I usually don't go up there in the Winter, but I really don't like driving across 20. It's a real slog, winding roads, steep, little towns. I can't imagine what it would be like in deep snow. Sorry this is kind of late. Let us know if you made it out alive.

Very little snow over there. You are in desert east of Bend.

Just not Donner, if you run up through Shasta you'll need to chain-up if it calls for it and running the 97 will get you into snow too.
Snow, either get used to it or drive S/O the 40...it's a fact of driving.
