Im thinking about changing my career and becoming a driver. The problem is that I would need a company to send me to school or get a loan and I couldn’t take a job making less than 50k a year. Suggestions?

Why do you want to change careers? What is the worst-case scenario if you don't make 50k your first year? That's not technically IMPOSSIBLE at a training company, but it's a tall order. Good luck!

Don't come to trucking with that attitude. You're probably not going to make that much unless you get lucky. You would be lucky to make the 40k range being fresh. Research youtube about trucking life, daily activities with trucking and read forums like this. There's a wealth of information on here. If your only concern is cash in your pocket you could try Prime. One of the better money makers for fresh or if you like to actually work you could do Flatbed or tanker. There's many options out there but you have to decide what you are willing to do and how hard you want to work.Wbwashb26 Thanks this.

Um, no, that would be a gross of 31k... But I guess breaking out a calculator real quick and doing the math before you spout off is too much work for ya?

I'm pretty sure we can help him make at least $60K, but not less than $55K his first year.
