Tomorrow morning I will be driving north on I-29 and have to pass through Omaha, but I see it is closed and they want you to go down 80, then take 480 to reconnect with 29. Does anybody know of an easier or shorter route to get me past the road closure?

Take i80 w to us 75n to 680 east to i 29ntscottme, mitmaks, austinmike and 1 other person Thank this.

I went through there last week. Unless things have changed since then you can stay on 29 through Council Bluffs - you just have to detour onto the frontage road for about 2 miles.
-
You can stay on I 29 they will just send you down a service road for a ways and then you will be right back on I29.
You will go through 3 or 4 stop lights but it’s no big deal.
The detour is to try to minimize traffic through that area but it’s not restricted. -
That sounds better than the way I went last time. Thank you.
Perfect. Thankstscottme, drvrtech77 and PacoTaco Thank this. -

I went sb on I29 a few times,detoured from 29 to I 80 on I 880.Its about 15 miles.Maybe less than 10 miles on 80 to the I 29 intersection.Traffic was light.

Allow yourself an extra 15 minutes for the posted detour. Easy, and no big deal.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Run 29 right thru cb its no big deal , there's a stop light at 9th Ave, one at west Broadway and one at ave G , then you are right back on the mainline of 29 .
Watch your speed thru there cause isp and cb cops been writing some pretty pricey tickets there lately.Bean Jr., austinmike and Last Call Thank this. -
