I-70 Colorado now in March ok?

    True that. I've encountered 8% grades in Texas on paved roads, more than that on dirt.

    Pretty much every state we think of as "flat" has hills that are steep.

    A lot of people think Ohio is flat. Wait til they get on some of the 2 lanes in the south eastern part of the state. In for a surprise

    Actually if a person were to google US elevation map they may find something like THIS. If you study this map you will see there are really very few flat area's in the US.

    The other question you need to consider besides weather before running I-70 through Colorado is weight. I never run through Vale heavy. It's just too steep.

    I just ran east bound on OH-32 and US-35 a few days ago at 110K gross. Tell me about it. Pulling uphill from a standing start from a traffic light I was lucky to get into high range.
