I must have just missed all that mess cuz it wasn't that busy when I pulled in here 3 hours ago. The DC that I haul out of is a mile down the road so I come here fairly frequently. Probably about 2 times a week. Besides the TA, there is also a speedway next to the TA and a McDonalds with truck parking across from the TA.

The showers at this pilot are nicer than the TA down the street which is uncommon because from my personal experience TA showers are almost always better than pilot.

A little understanding goes a long way. I stay out of Pilot truck stops for several reasons. Addressing the traffic issue that was first raised:
Pilot is as large as they are because their business model dictates having fuel contracts with the biggest carriers. Most of those carriers also hire entry level drivers, and those carriers also use up to the second fuel optimisation programs. Those programs tell those trucks needing fuel to stop at x truckstop, purchase y amount of gallons. Multiply that times the thousands of trucks being operated by the megas and certain locations easily get overwhelmed with trucks. No one has addressed that part of the equation. Pilot has oversold their capacity many times over, and judging from the recent results of the FBI and IRS investigations are arrogant enough not to care.
Add the inferior size and layout of most Pilot locations and constant traffic problems are the result. Add the increased use of elogs and Katy...bar the door.
