Remember in the late 90s early 2000s when the indians went on the warpath, set tires on fire, blocked the road? Fun times!!

I totally understand how the districts are allocated in my state, just not happy with what it has become.
At the risk of getting too political and getting myself in trouble...
Nys was made up of both republicans and Democrats.
Each party working to keep the other honest just the way the system was designed.
In recent years in NY there has become a behind the scenes merging making up what I like to call the
“What’s in for me establishment party”
This merging has left us a one party system in state, county and town government where money and special favors are the norm.
There are literally no party values for either party anymore and the residents and tax payers suffer dearly every day for it.bzinger Thanks this. -
My trucking career started in the early 80s as a bull hauler.
I used to pick up cows at Welch’s cattle auction on RT 8 in New Berlin.bzinger Thanks this. -

Now Trump he's from NY but he wasn't really after power. He liked to hobnob with the rich and famous, court beautiful ladies, and he liked being noticed.
I do think he will be elected again later this year.
But the point is about New York. NY believe it or not was a farming state. Farms. Dairy. Horses. Now you don't even see much of that. Most farmers have died, moved away or simply given up. Why do something year after year if you lose money?
People have been moving out of State for 40 years yet the State as a whole is still holding steady population wise because of all the immigrants moving into NYC and it's suburbs.
NYC, by the way is one of the most expensive places to live in the World, never mind the Country.
Keep those thoughts in mind as you travel on 17 86 and 88.Cabinover101 and bzinger Thank this. -
Okay, I finally tested out I-88 and I-86/NY-17 from Johnstown, NY to I-90 in PA. I-88 has some steep upgrades and beat-up roads, but overall it’s a good route. I-86/NY-17 is much better and very similar to I-90.
I was in Johnstown, so I needed to take NY-30A to get on I-88. About 14 miles of that route were terrible roads with lots of hills and curves. There is a “low clearance” of 12’ on Trucker Path, but it’s not accurate. There are comments posted by others saying that is not correct.Cabinover101 Thanks this.
