i-90 vs. i-94

i-90 is easiest, leads you straight into Seattle. Plus, you'll get to go down the fun passes like Lookout and Snolqualmie Pass.

 

Gonna be on 90 @ that point either way..94 ends in Mt where they run back into each other....

I prefer 90...but I run off at Whitewood SD...take 34 to 212& come back on 90 south of Billings..that way mileage bout same....and you miss the cities&that miserable St.Croix scale...although SD coops can have their moments...

 

Run I-94 through Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. You'll pick up 90 in Billings and follow it straight to Seattle

 

I've done both and personally I like the 90 all the way and taking that 212 will also save you on a couple of hills. There might be a couple more fuel locations and places to stop along the 90 then the 94 as well.

I'm actually heading east on that today leaving Seattle going to Springfield, MO. Taking the 90 to the 29 is about 30 miles longer then going down the 84 to the 80 and dealing with all the idiots and hills in Wyoming. 90 will gave more flatness which means less fuel used.

Hands down the best route

 

212 is a great shortcut,and keeps you out of Wyoming pretty much.Haven't run it since the 80's used to be a pretty tough road in the winter,all 2 lanes with very little shoulders for breakdown,don't know if that's changed.Lot of fleets wouldn't allow their trucks to run it back then.You go through a lot of indian area,back in the old days certain times of the month they would get their assistance check you would have to watch out for intoxicated local personel.

 

Be careful running 212 at night. Lots of those 4 legged terrorists running around.
