Driver killed in crash with semi parked on shoulder
According to WSAV News, a semi truck was stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 95 near mile marker 71 when another semi truck struck it from behind. The force of the impact moved the parked truck several feet and obliterated the cab of the moving tractor trailer.

i gotta question how da heck do you hit a vehicle on the shoulder?

    speaks of distracted driving.

Not quite sure but it looks like the truck that hit the can hauler may have been a natural gas tractor (CNG/LNG) but it’s so badly mangled I can’t tell the make of model.

Even more mind boggling is that 4 1/2-5 miles up the road is a truck stop at Exit 76 that the can hauler could’ve gone to to safely rest.
I-95 in Georgia is too risky to pull off onto a shoulder. Speed limit is mostly 70 mph but the traffic realistically is moving around 80-90 mph!

coulda had engine troubles, or anything else requiring a quick pull over.

still does not explain how in daylight someone goes into the shoulder and crashes.

we will most likely never get an update on this.

i'm gonna go with distracted driving.

Either that or a medical emergency. Either way if that can hauler wasn’t legitimately broken down then he just earned himself a $300 dollar fine. Georgia State Patrol is cracking down on shoulder parking for this reason.

Speculation: If neither of Above, the measly $300.00 Fine could travel up to, possibly, Involuntary Manslaughter, as to say if Can Hauler "not there", other Driver might have lived.
