Half of the trucking companies that hire newbies either provide school or provide tuition reimbursement. Picking a school is not nearly as important as finding a company to work for that works well with your needs. CDL schools train you to pass an exam. Your first company teaches you the skills needed for working as a driver.

Probably most truck drivers are on BP meds. You can still pass the physical if your BP is under control.
Some drivers on here can give you some hints to help with that so you'll be ready for the physical.

Thats no big deal. It just means you have to have a medical exam every year rather than every two years. VERY few companies refuse to hire drivers with only a 1 year medical card. Don't worry about it.

With medication I am around 138/84 and 98 pulse rate. Before the medication, I was around 160/95 and 100 pulse rate. I am on strict diet these days

When the doctor examines you your BP needs to be at or below 140 over 90 IIRC. If you tell them about your BP medicines you still have to meet the 140/90 but they will automatically give a 1 year medical card, if you pass the exam.

Lots of us turned our life around because of trucking. Failure is choosing to stop trying, not having a hard time. Don't be your own obstacle. Improve what you can.
