I got zero tolerance for cheap rates and people that know it all. Story short I got ripped off $$$ for a $1.07 Bolt at Home Depot which the shipper bend while loading and was put on the bill of loading that they bend the bolt, called after hours and no one picked up. Monday came around told the "agent" and he started stuttering about "we might have a problem" i informed the receiver which the guy that received it sign and put on the bill of loading "damaged" by shipper and not driver fault. I called the agent and he said i might be responsible for that, than i knew TQL is Shady company. Fast forward TQL took off 7% off the rate "Because i was responsible" even do i had evidence that wasn't the driver fault. It was "emergency" on a late Friday so that's why i took it, but never again i rather dh my trucks before taking any TQL loads and when i rarely post a truck i put "no TQL loads" and they still call. Plus when you do a agreement with TQL you are signing all your rights away. Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me. Good agents pay good no hassle and work with companies that have good rep. I just started brooking loads and i try to keep my charge around 12% for loads i cant cover. TQL tries to make more than the truck. No thanks. Talk to any reefer or flatbed guy, and most likely they have had bad experience or heard of bad experience with TQL. Good luck with the company.
TwinStickPeterbilt, EverLuc, jardel and 3 others Thank this. -
Like I said before, there are definitely shady brokers at the company. But that is not a representation of everyone. Just like a few shady carriers are not a representation of everyone either. Brokers at TQL are paid on a 100% commission basis, so some people will gouge and cut rates in any way they can to maximize their earnings. Some people, like myself, see the advantage of building long term relationships with customers and carriers for a sustainable business. It's unfortunate that those willing to sacrifice integrity are not weeded out better, but I'm not in management and cannot make those decisions. 12% is right around the ballpark of margins I make as well. It will differ on the circumstances, but I never see margins over 50% (more money to broker than to the truck). I do not doubt that it has happened, but it is not the norm. If you would like, you may contact me via pm anytime and I will honestly discuss rates and lanes with you. I would like the chance to prove not all of us are shady and disrespectful. But I am sorry you had that experience. I've got a few horror stories with different carriers myself. Sometimes, it's a harsh industry.

LB, I applaud your attitude. That said, at the appropriate time you might consider a change of employers. You as a decent, upstanding, hardworking individual are never going to make TQL a quality company. They are lower than whale poop and that attitude starts at the TOP.
pearcetrucking Thanks this. -
X2 on that one.
TQL needs to remember the old saying, Rip me off once- shame on you. Rip me off twice- shame on me. Lesson was learned the hard way and there is no need for a refresher
EverLuc Thanks this. -
I applied to work there as a broker several years back. So glad I never got hired

I agree, by far the worst freight brokerage in the industry... So bad my company stopped hauling for them -
I canceled my account after getting a bill for a late delivery that said nothing in the confirmation about appointment time. $150.00
The thing with TQL is nothing is for sure. You'll get canceled loads after making a deal. Postings that are not real ghost loads. And a few times I've had some that get really ugly with you on the phone over stuff out of our control.EverLuc and pearcetrucking Thank this.
