Your just trying to hard to attempt to make a point.Yes it’s happened to me a couple times and it was the same thing both times in reality the shipper was just trying to get a cheaper rate.Both times was the same thing,a very small business that was selling used farm equipment basically a 1 man operation with maybe 1 employee there freight was very unpredictable maybe 1 load this week maybe two weeks b4 another yes there paying a much higher rate because there’s no volume of business for a broker or a decent size trucking company so they are going to charge a higher rate .In most all other companies where you pu or deliver you will never meet the person making logistics choices on what company they use to ship with.There hundreds of companies in your area in most cases if you are the gift to the trucking industry and do such a greater job than all the other companies why are you using brokers for sales leads why are you using brokers at all in that case.Even if you believe that a company that you found by using a broker turns around and ask to leave the broker out why would you want to risk hiring a attorney and spend money trying to win that if the broker did find out and take it court. For a customer who really has one interest in finding someone to haul his freight cheaper

You're wasting your time. I've received similar treatment as yourself from that guy. If he can't do something, he thinks it's impossible to be done regardless of other's actual hands on experience.

You’re right that bad actors exist on both sides, but the power imbalance usually makes broker behavior hurt more when it goes wrong. Hearing that there are brokers willing to push back on unfair rates and provide accurate info is encouraging, even if consistency across the company is the bigger challenge.
If more conversations like this happened openly, it would probably help rebuild some trust. Appreciate you stepping into the lion’s den and being willing to answer hard questions.
