How is it going with Werner so far? They are one of my choices when I finish school on 21 Oct. They have a terminal in Dallas about 40 minutes where I live. Home time is not a big issue with me right now and I want to hit some geography and get miles right now. I see they have a flatbed division as well and may be more interested in that.

So far so good..... Just see about a dedicated account. Flatbed division?? Good luck... not alot of new driver can get on it... It is what I first wanted when i talked to them... not a big fleet. I can go flats when ever I want but choose not to due to wanting to be home every weekend vs. every 17 or so days..... Just give them a try and call driver placement weekly to find out what is avaible in your area. If you are in Dallas area you probally dont have much to worry about. On home time they will probally make you leave your truck at the Dallas term tho. any other questions feel free to ask...i dont get on here daily, just when i can.... take care and be safe... GOAL
SpyderRyder and Ms.Jesse Thank this. -
Swift is a much better company IMO.I have twin boys, one got terminated from Werner, 5 days after getting his truck for BS reasons. His Swifty brother got put on a dedicated regional account right after training. When he snapped the mirror off the passenger side of the truck and dented the trailer with a tree that was hanging over the road,5 days after he started,I thought here we go again another one bites the dust. They didn't even call him in for a safety meeting, they gave him a newer truck and put him right back to work! If he was with Werner he would have been fired.

A happy werner driver? I heard there was one somewhere I guess your the one they were talking about! Whats the odds?

You have been all over this site p###### and m###### about Werner because your son got fired for hard braking. Your son f##### up. Get over it. I worked for Werner and a couple other big companies. They are what you make them. Do your job, don't complain about everything, don't run over anything and you will be OK. You won't get rich but you will do OK.

sounds like a great match

I am sorry to hear your "son" got fired from Werner. From what I have read in other posts you say he got fired for "hard breaking". Well let me tell you, you do not get fired for "hard breaking". I have had that happen to me, the "hard break" and guess what?? I did not get fired. As you other "son" ripping a mirror off of truck and denting up a trailer and not getting fired? Well each company is different. "Son" A got fired from Werner for something else and the "hard break" was the straw that "broke" the camels back. I myself have "scored" a few points in the "hitting stuff" book with Werner and guess what?? Still didnt get fired. I scraped/dented 2 dedicated fleet trailers (worse than damaging a Werner blue) and knocked down a cross walk sign. Im not perfect. But you know what?? I didnt get fired. "Son" A messed up big somewhere and hasnt came clean. Im looking forward to my second year with them. I have hit a few rough patches last few weeks but am still running hard as normal. So say what you want about your "sons" and Werner and Swift. Im happy and you not likeing them doesnt hurt my feelings any but really, Shut up.....
Stay safe out there everyone....

There are only about 100 flatbed drivers out of 8000 drivers at Werner.

I am looking to Werner because I have heard that they are good with home time. I am looking in the regional routes. And maybe move to dedicated when I have been there long enough.
