Hmmm, had a different recruiter last time. She told me that since Indy(me) to Columbus(trainer) was considered within driving distance, that everything would be on my dime. Heck with Maverick I was only 70 or so miles away from home with my trainer and they still gave me a hotel if I couldn't get back home on the weekends for any reason.
I applied to Averitt

Of course they are going to try and not pay for anything, but If your ROUND trip is longer than 75 miles, I would ask about it. They pay for people to drive to orientation, so why wouldn't they pay for someone to drive back and forth to training. (Which is exactly what I said to Averitt, btw...) and low and behold. I started getting paid. Now I have heard from other drivers, that they had a hotel during they're training due to something or another, but I'm pretty sure that was situation dependent. But all they can say is no... providing you have to ask first.
-
Heh, yeah I asked her a couple of times and she said it was my own dime... One way to Columbus is 175 miles >.> Hopefully it's different this time!
-
Hmmm, I hope they will accept that I can't go to orientation until after this month is up.

Well scratch that. The hell my boss gave me over calling off because off the ice storm warning we had, they'll be lucky to get 2 weeks.

Interview went well. My recruiter is going to call me tomorrow after he looks for a trainer for me. Apparently they don't have very many non-smokers close to me so he's going to see what he can do. Hopefully next weekend I will be in Cookeville

Ive noticed there never really is a trainer close by that can start training you without some kind of waiting period lol. I've got to go to Mississippi to train otherwise I'd have to wait a month to get one at the SC in Houston. -
Eh, at least if it's far enough away they'll pop me in a hotel. Heck even if it's within the 150 miles thing, I'd probably get a hotel anyway just so I don't have to drive that far. When are you starting with them Eddie?

Cool, if all goes well with him finding me a trainer I should be heading that way next weekend myself. Probably on Greyhound darn it. Which means a 3 hour wait in nashville as they only have like ONE bus a day that goes to Cookeville via Indy and it doesn't leave til like 230pm or so.
