Anyway, I am LOVING it here so far. This is by far the best I've ever been treated at ANY company, non-trucking jobs included. The people here are awesome, and when I met my recruiter today, he agreed to get one of the people at the Decatur/Madison yard to come get me at Greyhound when I arrive! Cab was going to cost $30 and walking would take 4 hours haha. The food here is amazing, even at the hotel breakfast. The cook is such an amazing person as well, she's very good at perking everyone up and making us laugh in the morning. I will strongly recommend this company to any good drivers that I may find. Before my roommate left for home, I took her to the fitness center in the hotel and showed her good exercises to do that will help her shoulder strength when she tries again. It's the same exercises I did myself before I went to Maverick and it helped me to lift 140lbs, so she should do alright next time. Mr. Sasser talked to use all today and he is a great guy, he's done a LOT with this company to make it as good as it is today.

So... Am I to assume that my pestering about you trying again was worth it? LOL
There are going to be bad days as well... can't have one without the other. But I know your going to do well and you'll make of it what you will. -
Haha yeah you were right. I just realized I forgot to ask my recruiter who my trainer was going to be >.> Poo. Also the guy doing my strength test at the doctor's was dubious about me being able to lift the 80 pounds at all. He looked at me and said "Should I lower the weight for you, or do you want to TRY stating at 80" Hehe, looked right at him, snatched that crate off the table, did the step back, put it down, picked it up, and tossed it back on the table in about 3 seconds flat
Loved the look on his face after that, made my whole day. That dress code video today though, I am somewhat worried about the two guys who starred in it lol. The whole class was DYING.

Forgot to mention, technically on medical hold. The doctor DID want to see my 2013 sleep apnea test results which, not following Nukem's suggestion for once, I brought with me to Orientation. Good thing I did, while I don't fit the criteria for a test, the fact that I had one done previously meant that they wanted to check to see what the results were which I can understand. I could lie about not having it after all. Should be cleared and good to go tomorrow. Meanwhile, one guy quit and went home angry because he couldn't get a jacket right away. I think we're well rid of him TBH. Getting that angry over a blasted jacket is not a sign of a good attitude IMHO.

no one get a jacket right away, they tell you that it will be shipped to you after you choose which one you want........he must of been some kind of special -
Yeah, everyone was laughing about it. They even SAID they were being shipped to the house. I myself picked one of the big waterproof/windproof ones.
chopper103in Thanks this. -
And hey... I was wrong once. It can happen... LMAO -
Medical hold cleared(was the only one that got cleared) Found out what time my bus leaves, early Friday, another Averitt is heading down to the same city so we're sharing a cab and will probably stick together for the trip. Hoping my trainer can get someone from Decatur/Madison yard to come get me at Greyhound. Can't afford the taxi so it's someone get me or I have a nice, lovely 11 mile walk. Got lucky, me and 5 others don't have to go to the training center for training tomorrow, ours is at the Clarion. Dunno why, but since it's gonna snow I'm perfectly fine with it.

Meeting up with my trainer tomorrow. Then it's off to the Houston service center to dump off this load. Aren't LTL loads automatically marked hazmat? I think they said something about that in class. If so I won't be able to drive on this load. Won't be able to get my endorsement til I get back home.
