Can I find a local job that will keep me within my state,or do I have to wait until my doctor feels comfortable taking me off the needle? Is my medical card completely trash now?

If your dr is requiring you to be on insulin then there is a reason. Your med card isn't trash, but there is a waiver you can get, but there's lots of hops to jump through to get it

i cannot swear to it, but once on insulin, you do not come off it.

There are a lot of new drugs that work as good or better than insulin, talk to your doc tell him your situation and ask for another drug, be prepared to pay for it, not all insurance covers them.

That would be incorrect , I was insulin dependent and now take zero diabetes drugs and have an a1c of 5.6

Yes you can, my mom has been insulin dependant for 30 years, last 15 she's been on a pump. She recently had a procedure and is dripping weight like crazy. So far ages down nearly 100lbs since September, her dr has taken her off insulin all together and put her on a small amount of non insulin kefir pins

Seams like I read this exact post a few weeks ago. Any way. When did you b come diabetic? If it was recently you may be on insulin to gain control of the disease. After gaining control you may transition to oral meds. There are several new meds that may help. I am also diabetic I take metformin an oral, as well as jardiance another oral. I also have an injectable pen taken once a week called Bydureon. Taking my meds religiously has brought my a1c down to 6.2 from 12. Talk about o your doctor and good luck

They will give you a ex. much faster if you have been driving for years with no tic. and things look better to them if you were a safe driver before you had to go on insulin

Go ahead and believe you have to be on pills and shots the rest of your life..or learn about food and how it reacts to our bodies. For me, food is my medicine, I will not partake in them pills because a long time ago they said pills bad, oh and here is another pill for that pill. You have a great encyclopedia with this internet, some good information, some bad, seek and you shall find. Keep a journal and record what you do, you may surprise yourself and find something that works.
